👥 Volunteer Role: Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)

🎯 Role Overview

The CHRO is responsible for building, supporting, and sustaining VVF’s people power. This role focuses on recruitment, volunteer management, member retention, and internal culture, ensuring that members and volunteers feel valued, supported, and motivated to grow with VVF.

This is a leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, organizing systems, and strengthening community culture.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

The CHRO’s duties include, but are not limited to:

Team Building & Recruitment
Recruit and manage their own HR/people team as needed
Support recruitment across VVF projects and teams
Member & Volunteer Management
Maintain and update the member and volunteer list
Track volunteer participation and contributions
Support onboarding for new members and volunteers
Retention Strategy & Execution
Develop and implement strategies to retain members and volunteers
Create feedback systems, check-ins, and engagement initiatives
Identify issues related to burnout, disengagement, or turnover
Culture & Internal Bonding
Organize internal bonding activities, team gatherings, and appreciation initiatives
Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful internal culture
Collaboration & Reporting
Work closely with the Board and Project Leaders
Provide periodic updates on member engagement and retention

Individuals passionate about community building and people development
Strong communicators and organizers
Experience in HR, volunteer coordination, leadership, or community management is a plus (but not required)
Able to commit time consistently and work collaboratively with the team
